to pick and choose
Быть разборчивым, привередливым; делать выбор с особой тщательностью. В этом выражении, возникшем в XVII в., используется принцип повторения слов с одним и тем же значением, что очень характерно для английских устойчивых выражений (set phrases): pick — выбирать и choose — выбирать.

At the holiday camp there will be a whole rang of activities: canoeing, hang-gliding, water skiing, horse riding, swimming, sailing. You will be able to pick and choose exactly what you want. — Там, в лагере, будет масса возможностей для активного отдыха: гребля на каноэ, планеризм, водные лыжи, катание на лошадях, плавание, катание на яхтах.
